The Last Day [Chozu]

It seemed like an eternity since Menma had come here to help his brother becoming Hauchi's apprentice in the process. His brother hadn't been too thrilled about that but he allowed it so at least he could keep him around and safe. He'd been training long and hard with the masked man he'd lost track of time some days. He'd felt like he'd reached his limit with the sharigan it still couldn't compare to the power Chozu held with the mangekyou sharigan. Still he kept up with his training day after after pushing him past his limits until he couldn't handle it anymore. Soon the time to face Dengen would come he could only hope he was strong enough and useful to his brother in the fight he couldn't afford to fail him now. Today he could be found standing along the beach on the island where Jewnikami's headquarters lay. He wore a purple cloak with a hood on over his usual attire kusangai at his side as always eyes closed as he took in the aroma of the sea taking a deep breath and then exhaling again. He had no session with Hauchi today so he was just relaxing for now but he could sense a chakra approaching and recognized it as his brother's he had to wonder what brought him to see him today when he'd been so busy as of late.

Menma wanted to believe that his brother was okay but something seemed off about him. He couldn't quite place it but Chozu had been spending a little more time with him than usual. Not that he would complain and he wouldn't bug his older brother about it he had enough on his plate already with Jewnikami and his own goals. He had gotten close to Keanu though not in a romantic way she had become more like an older sister to him and at times a mother. Hauchi knew the truth he was sure about his brother but he wasn't talking either no it was only training with him most of the time. This place truly was calming and serene a paradise that seemed far away from the reaches of the shinobi world and the hatred it bred day in and day out. Still he knew he couldn't hide out here not when he had a mission to help his brother kill their uncle. He'd sigh a little what would he do then if they succeeded where did he go from here? He wish he had the answers but right now he didn't. He'd look back now to see his brother approaching now slowly moved to remove his hood now sharigan blazing brightly now. "Then soon this will all be over brother." He simply said looking back out to sea briefly before turning around completely to face his brother now. "I just wish I knew what to do after that." He added crossing his arms against his chest now. He didn't expect Chozu to have an answer for that only advice like he usually did.

Of course he knew it was his brother coming to see him now. Anyone else would've greeted him already once within reach but not Chozu. He wanted to be close enough to him before he would say anything incase someone else was nearby so that they wouldn't overhear them. He could do anything sure he wasn't a criminal like his brother though the leaf did want to bring him back he'd get a slap on the wrist and a little punishment whereas his brother would be locked away forever or killed. "I wish I thought so highly of myself. Grandfather used to think I would be bound for the same greatness he was." He replied everyone expected so much of him in the clan but he knew in the end it would be his choice what he did. Whether he would do as his brother thought he should or not. He just failed to see the potential in himself sometimes that others could see but he would strive to become the strongest shinobi in the lands and do some justice with his name starting with his uncle. "I'll try I'll make both you and grandfather proud of me." He grinned as he clenched his fists tight shut now. "So when do we depart the sooner it is over the better!"

He was told he was a lot like his grandfather and his older brother a lot like his brother Itachi. History seemed to repeat itself it was always funny like that. He was sure Chozu had lied to him about some things he wasn't too comfortable yet with telling him about. Still he didn't see why everyone believed in him the way his grandfather and older brother seemed to he just failed to see what they did or how to get there for that matter it all seemed so hopeless sometimes. "I just wish I knew what it is you both see in me that I can't and I'm hardly strong enough yet to do that." He replied looking away now maybe he was just thinking about the future too much when he should focus on the present. Right now he had a different purpose to help his brother seek out his vendetta.

He felt he was ready to do this that by helping Chozu they could defeat their uncle once and for all. He was surprised though when Chozu stopped him all of a sudden. "But isn't this what I've been training for? Sure I don't have eyes like yours but together we can beat him!" He protested falling silent as his brother spoke of inspiration and making him stronger but for what if not to help him? "I've reached my limits with my eyes my strength is at it's peak." Or so he believed in his mind he couldn't reach the level his brother had he didn't know how to obtain the mangekyou sharigan and no one would tell him how it was frustrating sometimes.

Menma could only imagine or guess how bad the war had been on his brother. He could remember a time when he was all smiles and happy. Then the war happened and when he came back he was just well different not the same Chozu had he had known before it all began. He wish he could understand what he had been through and try to help him but it he just felt useless there there wasn't much he could do if he couldn't relate to him. "Yeah I know that's why father was harder on me growing up. I know I should have more faith in myself so I am grateful for those that really do believe in me." He just didn't understand why Chozu felt he had to do this alone he had thought he wanted him out here to help him out. Maybe he was being a little cocky though thinking he was ready to help Chozu take their uncle down when he knew so little about him and his abilities when he barely even understood his own brother's abilities. "Than I will respect your decision brother even if I don't approve of it." He simply replied he wasn't too happy about that but well if he tried to interfere anyways he knew Chozu would just have Hauchi or Keanu keep him out of the way if they had to lock him up. "I suppose you're right that is why I keep pushing myself past my limits. I can't afford to give up now when so much is expected of me." He replied he just hoped his brother was strong enough to take down Dengen alone. He really didn't know what he would do if he lost his brother he would just feel so lost and hopeless then.
